Holly Hunter was an American actress who became famous for the films Broadcast News The Firm The Piano The Incredibles. The actress won numerous awards, like an Oscar for the film Piano. Her career in acting started on Broadway by performing in a range of Broadway and Off Broadway projects. From her early years she's always been enthusiastic about performing. She played Helen Keller as a fifth-grade student in a school production. After suffering from the Mumps, she was blind on the other side of her ears. This was not enough to stop her desire to pursue a career as an actress. In her teens she studied drama, and then moved into New York City. Hunter had her Broadway debut following an unplanned encounter in the company of Beth Henley, a playwright. Together, they wrote in Broadway Crimes of the Heart. Her first film role came after she relocated from Los Angeles. In the years since, she has been in numerous films and shows and TV films over a career spanning over three decades. Holly Hunter was awarded a Hollywood Walk of Fame Star and also the Women in Film Lucy Award.
